“A few drops” pavilion is one of the participating pavilions  in Qavameddin architecture workshop, focused on environmental crises. Our approach in this competition is a critical expression against the industrial pollutions produced by humankind. CDs, as a most important part of electronic wastes, has been produced worldwide. Its production process consumes a large amount of water in addition to fusil fuels and mineral metals.

At the beginning of our project, we called people on social networks, including instagram, whatsupp and telegram to bring their wasted CDs for us. In this way we made the purpose of raising public awareness about the issue. Besides we supplied the main materials of our project with no money. We requested from people to help us with the construction of pavilion. Many of the used CDs had their owner’s handwriting on them, which gave a sense of belonging to the pavilion.

The structure of pavilion was built with scaffolds which is 4m X 4m X 4m in volume. The scaffolds were taken from a constructional working-place which will be returned to their original place. The collected compact discs were woven in fishing threads with the cooperation of people. An stopper between both CDs causes them to rotate and move when the wind blows. There are 14 to 22 CDs in each line. We hung 450 lines to the net on the roof through small hooks, during a few hours.

The CDs are the metaphorical expression of raindrops. We want to incite the human senses by mean of the rain of rubbishes. One is hit to the lines when he enters the pavilion. He hears the sound of rain when the threads collide with each others. The passing light through the CDs creates a sparkle on the floor.
